Visually-light visual weight works nicely here because the scale stays comfortable instead of overpowering the dining nook. The backplate and shade proportions look visually-light together, especially in a narrower family room.

Textural creamy stone tone ended up being the detail that made the open area feel cleaner. The wall placement looks cleaner without taking up any surface space, which is exactly what I wanted here.

Subtle wall profile keeps the design feeling inviting rather than overly decorative. The backplate and shade proportions look graceful together, especially in a narrower living area.
