Deliberate overall scale immediately gave the alcove a less flat look without making the setup feel busy. The backplate and shade proportions look natural-looking together, especially in a narrower alcove.

Cohesive backplate detail looks better in person than I expected and gives the dining area a more welcoming focal point. The side profile stays visually calm, and the fixture sits close enough to the wall to feel tidy in the living area.

Composed design balance reads clearly from across the nightstand area while still looking visually calm up close. The backplate and shade proportions look pleasing together, especially in a narrower home office. Installation was fairly simple, and the material contrast looked better than expected once everything was tightened.
