Softer and distinctive, the compact projection changed the feel of the bedroom more than I expected. The side profile stays substantial, and the fixture sits close enough to the wall to feel tidy in the entry. After a few days, the side profile still feels well made and easy to live with in the reading corner.

Understated shape against the wall gives the piece a distinct character that is easy to work into the workspace. The backplate and shade proportions look restful together, especially in a narrower guest room.
