Deliberate under lower ambient light, the ceiling presence gives the piece a better proportioned appearance. The well-judged scale sits well over the open area, and the spacing between the elements keeps the ceiling from feeling crowded.

Subtle material contrast ended up being the detail that made the console area feel a little more special. The proportions work particularly well over a table, where the fixture feels visually-light rather than oversized.
